Youth city councils advance civic engagement in Reda and Zabrze

Municipalities in Poland are advancing youth civic engagement through local council activities. In Reda, elections for the 12th term of the Youth City Council are scheduled for October 19–21, 2026. Eligible candidates include students aged 13 to 20 from local primary and secondary schools, as well as residents studying outside the city. Applications must be submitted by October 14, 2026.

In Zabrze, the Youth City Council held a session with Mayor Kamil Żbikowski to discuss future initiatives. The council established two new committees: the Promotion Committee and the Culture and Sports Committee. The meeting also addressed the criteria for granting honorary patronage to projects deemed important to the city's young residents.
