Germany: Investigations into financial misconduct and abuse

Authorities in Germany are investigating several distinct criminal matters. In Stuttgart, the public prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into potential breach of trust at the Landesmedienzentrum (LMZ). The probe follows reports of problematic financial management, including the purchase of approximately 33,000 euros worth of now-worthless cryptocurrency, expensive decor, and questionable procurement processes involving a private company.

In a separate case, a 43-year-old youth coach from Feucht is in custody on suspicion of repeatedly sexually abusing at least two children, aged eight and eleven, between 2025 and 2026. Investigators are currently checking if there are other victims.

Additionally, a trial has commenced in the Göppingen region involving three young men accused of attempted murder. They are alleged to have targeted a snack bar owner in an attempted shooting in January. A separate suspect, a 38-year-old, was previously arrested for allegedly planning a drive-by shooting against the same individual.
