Youth community programs held in Praia de Mira and Madeira

Various community initiatives for children and youth have been conducted across Portugal. In Praia de Mira, the Centro Azul – Biblioteca de Praia hosted the ‘I Aventura no Centro Azul’ event. Organized in partnership with Europe Direct for the Coimbra and Leiria regions, the program focused on environmental education and ocean protection as part of the European Commission’s #EUBeachCleanup campaign and the 2026 Blue Flag Program.

In Madeira, the ‘Férias Vivas 2026’ project, promoted by IHM – Investimentos Habitacionais da Madeira and EPERAM, concluded after serving approximately 150 children aged 6 to 12. The summer program provided leisure activities and healthy lifestyle promotion for residents of several housing complexes, including Nazaré and Ribeira Grande. The initiative ended with a catamaran excursion to observe cetaceans in their natural habitat.
