Youth Congress holds ‘Samvidhan Samman Yatra’ protest in Nagpur

The Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress organized the ‘Samvidhan Samman Yatra’, or Constitution Honour March, in Nagpur on Wednesday. The demonstration was held to protest against the principles associated with the Manusmriti and to advocate for constitutional values.

Protesters staged a demonstration outside the RSS Smruti Mandir, which resulted in the detention of several Youth Congress workers by police. The march was also a response to a First Information Report (FIR) registered against Rahul Gandhi in Haldwani. The FIR follows a complaint regarding remarks made by Gandhi concerning a ‘shuddhikaran yajna’ held at a venue where Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge had previously addressed a rally.

The protest in Nagpur follows similar actions in Delhi, where Congress leader Udit Raj was detained while protesting against the same FIR.
