Youth Councils Formed in Benkovac and Viškovo, Croatia

The City Council of Benkovac elected five members to the newly created Youth Council of Benkovac after a public call for candidates. The inaugural meeting was held on 24 July 2026, chaired by City Council President Boris Erceg. Ante Šarić was unanimously chosen as council president, with Filip Grgas as deputy. Council members include representatives from local cultural and sports associations.

In the municipality of Viškovo, the newly constituted Youth Council held its inaugural session on 28 July 2026 in the Dom hrvatskih branitelja. Nadia Mujić was elected council president and Borna Benčik named deputy president. The council’s five members – Tia Juretić, Lara Brajec, Fran Peruško and the two leaders – will also represent Viškovo youth at the Primorsko‑goranska County Youth Council. Both councils aim to advise local authorities on youth interests and increase young people’s participation in community decision‑making.
