Youth creative initiatives launched in South Holland

Young creators and entrepreneurs in South Holland are participating in various initiatives designed to showcase talent and fund community projects.

In Gouda, the Young Makers Fest at GOUDasfalt features artists and artisans aged 9 to 29. Organized by 13-year-old Veerle in collaboration with the Maak Ministerie, the free festival showcases diverse crafts including ceramics, 3D printing, jewelry, and music. Participants include designer Marijn Brussel and singer-songwriter Luke Grave, alongside workshops focused on sustainable clothing repair.

In Goeree-Overflakkee, the Pitch Parade is offering young people aged 15 to 27 the opportunity to win up to €2,500 for creative community ideas. A youth jury will distribute a total of €5,000 based on the potential positive impact of projects, such as festivals or sports tournaments, on their local environment and social inclusivity. This initiative, supported by VSBfonds and Kunstgebouw, aims to empower youth in smaller municipalities to develop and execute their own activities.
