Youth development initiatives highlighted in Togo and Chad
In Lomé, Togo, the Jeunesse En Mission pour le Développement (JEMD) distributed 12,000 school supply kits to 300 young people in Adakpamé. This initiative follows a week-long training program focused on entrepreneurship, leadership, and civic engagement held under the ‘Programme de Vacances Utiles aux Jeunes’ (PVUJ) 2026. The supplies, which include notebooks, geometric sets, and writing tools, were supported by the TOOFAN group and Restaurant 2A to assist families with upcoming school expenses.
In Sarh, Chad, 24-year-old entrepreneur Alladoum Adelin is working to address regional electricity access issues through solar energy. After studying electrical engineering and completing a Master’s degree in Lomé, Togo, Adelin founded a company specializing in solar system consulting and installation. He aims to combine theoretical knowledge with practical application to empower local youth and promote sustainable energy solutions.
