Youth empowerment initiatives launched in Chad and Togo

Various youth development initiatives have been launched in Chad and Togo to promote entrepreneurship and professional skills.

In Chad, the Job Booster Chad program hosted the 2026 Young Job Seeker Day (JJCE). The event aimed to create a networking space for young job seekers, public institutions, and private sector actors. Djimoroum Barde Ronel Isabelle, Deputy Director General of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, emphasized a shift in vision where youth are encouraged to become creators of opportunities and entrepreneurs rather than just job seekers. The program seeks to address obstacles such as lack of information and financing.

In Togo, the organization Jeunesse en Mission pour le Développement (JEMD) launched the 2026 Useful Vacations Program for Youth (PVUJ). Scheduled to take place in Adakpamé, Lomé, from August 31 to September 5, the program offers training, coaching, and mentorship. JEMD President Edzodzinam Alagbo stated that the initiative aims to foster courage, entrepreneurial spirit, and perseverance by allowing participants to learn from successful professional journeys.
