Youth engagement and activism initiatives launch in Spain
In Spain, various initiatives are targeting youth engagement and political participation. In Euskadi, Gabriel Arrúe, the recently re-elected Secretary General of the Juventudes Socialistas de Euskadi, has outlined key priorities for his term. These include addressing housing accessibility and emancipation, improving working conditions, mental health, and promoting a pluralistic society. Arrúe noted a rise in political radicalization from both extreme right and radical nationalist forces, aiming to demonstrate that politics remains a viable tool for social change.
Meanwhile, in Madrid, the ‘Juventud en Acción’ meeting has launched, providing a space for individuals aged 18 to 30 to engage in civic activism. Supported by the Spanish Government’s Ministry of Education and the National Youth Institute, the event focuses on moving from theoretical discussion to direct social and political impact through interactive leadership and participation models.
