Youth engagement initiatives launched in Slovakia and Romania

Various regional initiatives in Slovakia and Romania are engaging youth through sports and cultural heritage programs.

In Slovakia, the football club DAC 1904 is continuing its ‘Come with us to DAC!’ program. The initiative invites schools and youth organizations to attend a championship match between DAC and Rózsahegy at the MOL Aréna on October 24, 2026. The free program includes bus transportation for groups of up to 40 students, match attendance, and opportunities to meet players. The most creative applicants may also host team players at their own educational institutions.

In Romania, the RMDSZ Cultural Department has announced the 15th annual ‘Guardians of Our Heritage’ competition. This national contest encourages primary and secondary school students to research and present the history of selected monuments using archival documents and field discoveries. Since its inception in 2012, the movement has involved over 3,800 students across 13 counties, aiming to foster a connection between young people and built heritage.
