Junior Achievement fair in Goiás and national small‑business showcase boost Brazilian entrepreneurship
On 6 June the Flamboyant Shopping centre in Goiânia hosted the Junior Achievement Goiás Mini‑Companies Fair, a free public event where more than 20 high‑school teams presented products ranging from reusable water‑bottle bags to handmade soaps and interactive games. Participants ran their own businesses for months, receiving mentorship from volunteer professionals and developing leadership, teamwork and problem‑solving skills. Director Marisa Brandão highlighted the program as a "self‑knowledge" experience that prepares young people for the labour market.
The same week the television program "Pequenas Empresas & Grandes Negócios" aired stories of Brazilian entrepreneurs who have turned niche ideas into profitable ventures. Highlights included a pet‑accessory resale shop in Brasília, a custom‑party‑supply store in São Paulo, a crochê fashion atelier in Salvador that leveraged national colours, and a cashew‑product company founded during the pandemic. Revenues ranged from modest six‑figure figures to a multi‑million‑real business, illustrating the diverse pathways to success in Brazil’s small‑business sector.
