Youth financial support programs announced in Romania and Hungary
Various regional financial support programs for youth have been announced in Romania and Hungary.
In Romania, a stability support program (prima de stabilitate) is available for NEET youth—those aged 16 to 30 who are not in education, employment, or training. Eligible individuals who register with their local county employment agency and secure their first full-time, indefinite employment contract can receive tax-free monthly payments. The support consists of 1,000 lei per month during the first year and 1,250 lei per month during the second year, totaling up to 27,000 lei over a 24-month period.
In Hungary, the Józsefváros Municipality is continuing its Bursa Hungarica scholarship program for 2026. The initiative aims to assist socially disadvantaged students, including high school graduates and university students with permanent residency in the district. Successful applicants may receive up to 35,000 HUF per month to help cover tuition, books, rent, or daily living expenses. The application period is scheduled from October 5 to November 5, 2026.
