Youth Football Alliances in Upper Vilstal and Berchum Start 2026/27 Seasons

The 1. FC Rieden and SV Schmidmühlen have re‑established a joint youth football community (SG Rieden/Schmidmühlen) for the 2026/27 season. The new SG will field C‑ and A‑youth teams, with two C‑youth squads coached by Markus Friedlund, Erich Wolf, Markus Fleischmann, Stephan Weindich, Josef Fleischmann, and Steffen Genrich, and an A‑youth team overseen by Rico Lieske. The partnership aims to create a continuous development pathway for young players in the Lower Vilstal region.

Separately, SC Berchum/Garenfeld will enter its B‑ and C‑youth sides in the Bezirksliga for 2026/27. Youth leader Paulo Felix says the clubs target early class retention and have reinforced squads with new players, including imports from FC Iserlohn. The teams will face opponents such as Sportfreunde Siegen II, DJK TuS Hordel, and FC Iserlohn II, with local derbies highlighted as key fixtures. Both clubs emphasize strong training conditions and a commitment to fostering youth talent in their respective regions.
