Youth football initiatives promote community engagement in Germany

Various youth football initiatives in Germany have recently focused on community engagement and skill development. In Lichtenau, VfL Lichtenau hosted a three-day football camp from August 17 to 19 in collaboration with Erlebniswelt Fußball. The program served children aged six to twelve, featuring two daily training sessions focused on technique, teamwork, and social interaction under the motto “Learning to live through play.”

In Telgte, SG Telgte and the JSG Telgte-Handorf girls' teams organized a “Girls' Football Day” at the Takkostadion. The event aimed to provide an easy entry point into club football through various stations involving dribbling, passing, and shooting. Experienced youth players mentored the participants to foster a welcoming atmosphere. The event also included a charitable component, with players raising 90 euros for the “WDR 2 Weihnachtswunder” campaign through a waffle sale.
