Youth football preparations intensify for El Salvador and Ecuador national teams

The El Salvador U-17 national team is preparing for the UNCAF FIFA Forward Sub-16 tournament, scheduled to take place from October 7 to 13 at the Estadio Nacional Las Delicias. The competition features eight nations divided into two groups: Group A includes El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Belize, while Group B consists of Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, and Puerto Rico. Technical director Héctor Cárdenas stated that the focus is on qualitative player development and preparing for the CONCACAF qualifiers for the 2027 U-17 World Cup.

In Ecuador, the U-20 men's national team recently completed an intensive training microcycle at the Casa de la Selección. From September 27 to October 6, 26 players participated in nine high-intensity training sessions aimed at tactical reinforcement and establishing a cohesive playing style. The preparation included friendly matches against Peru and Deportivo Santo Domingo as part of the developmental process for the 2027 CONMEBOL Sub-20 tournament.
