Youth football tournaments expand across Chile

Youth football initiatives are expanding across Chile, highlighted by the conclusion of the “Jugando por Nuestros Derechos” championship in the Maule region. The tournament, which was proposed by the children and adolescents themselves, concluded at the Estadio Fiscal Bicentenario Iván Azócar Bernales in Talca. Organized through the National Service for the Specialized Protection of Children and Adolescents (SERPAJ), the competition featured Sub-14 and Sub-18 categories and drew approximately one thousand participants and spectators.

In another development, the Torneo Iniciación organized by the ANFP held several youth derbies at the Mundo Sport Complex. Matches between Colo Colo and Universidad de Chile took place in the Sub-7 through Sub-10 categories. The tournament aims to foster development by teaching children to manage frustration and error. A unique aspect of this competition is that champions are determined not only by match results but also by a behavior table that evaluates players, coaches, and parents.
