Youth football tournaments start in Zielona Góra and Markowice, Poland

The third edition of the Purple Cup will be held this weekend in Zielona Góra. The international festival for players under 12 will feature youth teams from Italy, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Tournament coordinator Tomasz Skrzypczak said, “Będzie na co popatrzeć,” indicating high expectations for the competition.

On 20 June the ninth International Hubert Kostka Tournament will take place at the Łężczok pitch in Markowice, Racibórz. Youth squads from Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia will compete, followed by matches between fan clubs of major European teams. Olympic champion Hubert Kostka is the patron and is expected to attend. Organisers also plan a grill, buffet and activities for children.
