Youth Future Savings programs launch second round of applications
BNK Kyongnam Bank and Korea Post have announced the second round of applications for their ‘Youth Future Savings’ programs, designed to support asset formation for young adults.
Both programs target individuals aged 19 to 34 with an annual salary below 75 million KRW (or 63 million KRW in comprehensive income) or small business owners with annual sales under 300 million KRW. The application period runs from the 7th to the 16th, with initial registration days determined by the last digit of the applicant's birth year to manage volume.
BNK Kyongnam Bank offers a 3-year flexible savings product with a base interest rate of 5%, reaching up to 7% with preferential rates. The program includes government contributions of 6% or 12% of the deposit amount based on income criteria, and interest income is tax-exempt.
Korea Post offers a similar 3-year product with a base rate of 5%, which can reach up to 8% if certain conditions are met, including an additional 1% preferential rate for those who open accounts during the designated period in November. The program also features government contributions and tax-exempt interest income.
