Youth health and social programs launched in Spain and Costa Rica
In Spain, Consorcio EDER has launched a specialized training program for professionals working with adolescents aged 12 to 18 in the Ribera region of Navarra. Conducted in collaboration with Proyecto Hombre, the initiative provides tools and practical workshops to prevent addictive behaviors through an educational and age-appropriate approach. The program aims to strengthen community coordination and empower local agents to foster healthy habits and responsible decision-making among youth.
In Costa Rica, the Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS) has implemented the ‘Impulso Joven’ program, targeting students aged 10 to 19 in indigenous territories such as Valle La Estrella. The initiative covers a broad range of topics, including social security, employability, leadership, and life skills, alongside health prevention measures regarding vaping and smoking. The program seeks to bring social security knowledge and recreational activities to remote communities that previously had limited access to such resources.
