Youth initiatives drive Indonesian creativity and social inclusion

South Jakarta Mayor Syafrin Liputo has expressed the city administration's commitment to supporting youth creativity to help local works reach international recognition. As part of this effort, two Indonesian films, ‘Antrian Nomor Kematian’ and ‘Kandang Yang Tak Menunduk’, were sent to participate in The Working Class Film Festival in Sheffield, United Kingdom, after passing the Manifest Merah Putih 2026 selection.

In a separate initiative focused on social impact, the Maudy Ayunda Foundation (MAF) highlighted the work of its Impact Leaders. Carys Mihardja, a social entrepreneur through her nonprofit Carys Cares, is working to improve inclusion and career opportunities for individuals with down syndrome. Her efforts include advocacy and creative projects, such as featuring artists with down syndrome at New York Fashion Week.

Both initiatives emphasize the role of the younger generation in driving social change and bringing Indonesian talent and social awareness to a global stage.
