Youth leadership programs launched in Mexico and Panama

In Parral, Chihuahua, Mayor Salvador Calderón led the First Meeting of Student Leaders 2026. Organized by the Municipal Institute of Youth (IMJUVE), the event aimed to establish a direct dialogue between municipal authorities and student representatives to address community needs and foster youth participation in local governance.

In Chiriquí, Panama, more than 700 sixth-year students participated in the 2026 Youth Leadership and Empowerment Program. This initiative, a collaboration between the Oteima Technological University and the Ministry of Education (Meduca), focuses on developing personal and social skills such as emotional intelligence, assertive communication, and civic participation. Organizers aim to double participation and expand the program to other regions by 2027.
