Youth movements in Argentina and Colombia focus on memory and employment

In Argentina, the Unión de Estudiantes Secundarios (UES) of the North Zone has called for a mobilization on September 5. The march commemorates the 50th anniversary of the military coup and the ‘Noche de los Lápices’. The route will begin at Plaza Canal, a designated memory site, and conclude at EES N°6 ‘José Gervasio Artigas’ to honor the history of the region's disappeared students.

In Colombia, the MIRA Party has proposed transforming the Suba and Kennedy Multicampuses into public hubs for youth training, employment, and innovation. The initiative, launched under the campaign #QueNosLlamen, aims to address high youth unemployment in Bogotá, where over 185,000 young people are currently without work. The proposal seeks to integrate free public education with technical training and job placement in sectors such as technology and cybersecurity.
