Youth running events held in Alken and the Netherlands

The annual Jeugdestafetteloop took place in Alken on September 11, featuring 25 duo teams competing in a 30-minute relay. The participants covered a combined distance of 157.835 kilometers. The overall winners were Victor Grauls and Daan Vanrutten, who completed 8.100 kilometers. Other notable winners included the fastest female duo, Elien Janssen and Hawa Bah, and the fastest mixed duo, Josse Thoelen and Mien Barbier.

In the Netherlands, the Mini Dam tot Damloop has seen a 15 percent increase in participation compared to last year. A total of 3,550 children aged four to twelve are scheduled to run in Zaandam on Saturday evening, followed by 1,000 children in Amsterdam Noord on Sunday. These events are part of the larger Dam tot Dam Weekend, which expects 85,000 total participants across various running, walking, and cycling activities.
