Youth singing festivals held in Castro and Falcón
Various regional singing festivals are highlighting youth musical talent in Chile and Venezuela.
In Castro, Chile, the IX Festival de la Voz concluded at the Castro Cultural Center. More than 35 children and adolescents participated across Mini, Infantil, and Juvenil categories, representing over 10 urban and rural educational institutions. The event was organized by the Municipality of Castro through Senda Previene and the Office of Sports and Youth to promote local artistic talent and create protective environments for new generations. Josefa Ovalle Ruiz Tagle, a student from Colegio San Crescente, was named the winner of the Juvenil category.
In Falcón, Venezuela, the fourth edition of the ‘Falcón Suena en Vacaciones’ festival has entered its semifinal phase. The competition features 25 young vocalists from various municipalities, including Miranda, Colina, Píritu, Tocópero, and Zamora. Held at the ‘María Mercedes Colina’ Auditorium, the event aims to provide a platform for artistic training and discipline during the vacation period. Jessica Perozo de Clark, president of the Fundación Niño Simón Falcón, attended the opening gala to support the initiative.
