Youth sports initiatives highlight player development and regional expansion
Basketball club Iskra from Bugojno is emphasizing the importance of youth development and mentorship. The club highlighted the progress of four young players, Edah Drobo, Said Bašić, Nedim Vugdalić, and Haris Ljubunčić, who transitioned from the youth ranks to become key members of the senior team. The club stresses that the primary value of sports organizations lies in providing discipline, responsibility, and a sense of belonging to children, rather than focusing solely on results and transfers.
Separately, the organizers of the Youth Sports Games, led by Zdravko Marić, reported a successful season. The project, which has connected children through sports for three decades, recently held its final in Split. The event featured an appearance by Zlatan Ibrahimović, facilitated by UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin. The organizers aim to expand the program to more countries, including Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Montenegro, while maintaining the principle that participation remains free for all children.
