Youth volunteerism and leadership initiatives highlighted in Portugal and Spain

Youth development and volunteerism initiatives are being highlighted through local training and international congresses. In Ribeira das Tainhas, the Grupo Apressados da Vila organized a formation meeting for ten university and pre-university students. Under the theme “Who am I?”, the session focused on self-knowledge and personal reflection to improve interpersonal relationships and prepare for the Aldeia da Fraternidade.

Simultaneously, the Diocese of Portalegre-Castelo Branco is participating in the XIII International VIDES Congress in Seville, Spain. The event, themed “Young defenders of hope and solidarity,” brings together volunteers from across the globe to discuss social justice, integral ecology, and digital communication. The congress aims to empower young leaders and co-create the VIDES organizational strategy for the 2026-2030 cycle, focusing on civic commitment and human rights.
