Youth4Climate tour launches in Milan to connect young leaders with climate solutions

The 'Youth4Climate: Connecting Solutions' international tour has launched in Milan, marking the first stage of a multi-city initiative organized by the Italian Government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The event brought together over 60 young leaders from around the world to discuss and share innovative solutions to combat climate change.

Hosted at the Palazzo Marino, the program aims to connect youth-led climate projects with research centers, institutions, and businesses. The tour will continue through four other Italian cities: Venice, Bologna, Naples, and Rome, concluding by October 23. The agenda covers six key thematic areas, including sustainable energy, food and agriculture, the blue economy, architectural adaptation, sustainable fashion, and the intersection of climate, peace, and security.

Participants include representatives from academia, the private sector, and various industries. Key figures involved in the opening include Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala, UNDP representative Agostino Inguscio, and Federica Picchi, the Undersecretary for Sports and Youth of the Lombardy Region. The initiative seeks to foster constructive dialogue and strengthen alliances to support the ecological transition and sustainable development.
