In Huntingdon, UK, a 14-year-old boy was seriously injured during an assault at Riverside Park on Tuesday. The victim was treated at a hospital and subsequently discharged. Cambridgeshire Constabulary arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of grievous bodily harm without intent; he has been released on bail.
In Chicago, US, a 13-year-old boy was severely beaten while walking to Gately Park. The victim, who is currently at Comer Children's Hospital, suffered brain and facial swelling as well as seizures. The mother of the victim suggested the attack might be linked to social media conflicts involving rival cliques. After School Matters, the organization the boy was traveling to visit, stated the individuals involved were not affiliated with their program.
