YouTube unveils AI-driven creator tools and personalized Custom Feeds

At the Made on YouTube 2026 event, YouTube announced a major expansion of AI-driven tools designed to assist creators and personalize the viewer experience.

A key feature for viewers is “Custom Feeds,” which allows users to create dedicated content tabs by providing natural language prompts to Google’s Gemini AI. These feeds, such as a specific playlist for a commute, will appear as tabs on the homepage. Additionally, the “Ask YouTube” shopping assistant will be enhanced to provide product comparisons and specifications via text or voice.

For creators, YouTube is introducing several AI-powered capabilities. A conversational editing assistant is expected to arrive in early 2027 for YouTube Shorts and the YouTube Create app, allowing users to edit video through text instructions. YouTube is also launching “Shorts Series,” enabling creators to organize short-form content into structured seasons and episodes.

In YouTube Studio, creators will gain access to an AI agent that monitors back catalogs to suggest optimizations for older videos, as well as tools for A/B testing different video versions and dynamic thumbnails. To improve global reach, YouTube plans to pilot real-time auto-dubbing for live broadcasts in 2027. The platform is also expanding its YouTube Shopping affiliate program to 35 countries.
