YouTube announces AI-driven updates at Made on YouTube 2026

At the Made on YouTube 2026 event, Google announced a series of updates designed to transform the platform into a central hub for home entertainment across mobile, web, and television screens.

Key features include personalized feeds that allow users to create custom sections through conversational interactions with the app, organized by mood, routine, or interest. This functionality is slated to debut in the United States. The platform is also enhancing its commercial capabilities through ‘Ask YouTube,’ which will provide video recommendations and product comparison tables directly within conversational interfaces.

Social and interactive updates include the introduction of GIF support for comments on both traditional videos and Shorts, as well as the expansion of group chat features to facilitate social communication among users. Additionally, YouTube Music will launch an AI-guided podcast playlist experience that provides weekly recommendations.
