YouTube announces new AI, gaming, and shopping features for Taiwan
At Brandcast 2026, YouTube announced several new features and updates for the Taiwan market, highlighting its reach of 98% of the online population aged 18 and older. The platform is expanding its ecosystem to include gaming, shopping, and advanced AI tools.
Key updates include ‘YouTube Gaming Corner,’ which allows users to play over 1,000 games directly within the app or web browser without additional downloads, with progress synced across devices. For commerce, YouTube is introducing ‘automated product localization’ to help viewers purchase items tagged by international creators through local merchants.
AI integration is a major focus, featuring ‘Ask YouTube,’ a conversational tool that allows viewers to ask questions about video content, and ‘Ask Studio’ to help creators analyze channel data using natural language. To address the rise of synthetic media, YouTube is implementing mandatory AI disclosure labels for altered content and deploying similarity detection technology to help creators identify unauthorized use of their likeness or voice.
Additionally, the platform is enhancing its short-form video capabilities with ‘Shorts Series,’ enabling creators to organize short clips into sequential episodes to mimic episodic storytelling.
