YouTube explores adding audiobooks to Premium subscription

YouTube is in discussions with publishers to potentially integrate audiobook services into its YouTube Premium subscription. The move aims to expand the platform's current offerings, which include ad-free video viewing and YouTube Music, positioning the service to compete more directly with platforms like Spotify and Audible.

While a formal launch date has not been confirmed, reports suggest the service could be ready as early as 2027. Details regarding the specific catalog size, pricing models, and whether all titles will be included in the standard Premium tier or require additional fees remain unconfirmed by Google.

In separate news, YouTube Premium subscription prices have increased in the Czech Republic. The family plan has seen a significant rise, now costing 459 CZK per month, while individual plans have also moved upward. This price adjustment follows a period of stability and comes as the platform remains a highly popular brand among Czech consumers.
