YouTube hits 2.7 billion monthly users and $60 billion revenue in 2025

YouTube now has about 2.7 billion monthly active users worldwide, making it the largest video platform and the second‑most visited website after Google Search. In 2025 the service generated more than $60 billion in total revenue, including $40.4 billion in advertising earnings that surpassed the combined ad revenue of Disney, Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery.

The platform’s Shorts feature records around 200 billion daily views, while Connected TV has become its fastest‑growing surface, accounting for 12.4 % of U.S. TV viewing time in April 2025. In the United States, 85 % of adults use YouTube, the highest penetration among social platforms. YouTube operates as a subsidiary of Google, which acquired the site for $1.65 billion in 2006; it is now part of Alphabet Inc.’s portfolio and continues to monetize through ads, Premium subscriptions, and creator‑support features.
