Park We faces backlash over KTX accident CCTV footage

South Korean YouTuber Park We, known for his channel ‘Weracle’, is facing significant backlash following the release of CCTV footage showing a wheelchair accident on a KTX train. The incident occurred when a social service agent, attempting to secure a ramp, accidentally tripped Park We’s wheelchair, causing him to fall.

While Park We stated the footage was intended to highlight safety issues for disabled passengers and prevent recurrence, critics accused him of ‘publicly shaming’ a worker who had already apologized. The controversy has led to a decline in his subscriber count, which recently dropped below the 1 million mark, and the cancellation of several scheduled speaking engagements in Seoul and Gangnam.

The backlash has also extended to his wife, former Secret member Song Ji-eun, who has faced targeted comments on her social media. Park We has since deleted the video and issued an apology, admitting his response was immature and that he failed to consider the worker's perspective.
