YouTuber Park We faces scrutiny over resurfaced family videos

YouTuber Park We and his wife, Song Ji-eun, are facing renewed scrutiny following the resurfacing of past video clips from their channel, ‘Weracle’. The controversy stems from a series of observations made by online users regarding family dynamics and past comments.

One point of contention involves a past video where Park We discussed his desire for a son to ‘carry me around,’ which some netizens criticized as being selfish or gender-biased. Additionally, a video from a Chuseok holiday gathering has sparked debate over the treatment of Song Ji-eun. Critics pointed to instances where actress Yoon So-hee, a close family friend often described as a ‘foster daughter’ due to her relationship with Park’s father, appeared more integrated into the family rituals than Song, including being mentioned first during a prayer and differences in tableware usage.

These discussions follow a previous controversy in August involving Park We, who faced backlash for how he edited CCTV footage of a KTX wheelchair accident. Following that incident, Park apologized, suspended his YouTube activities, and stepped down from his role as a Seoul city ambassador.
