Yozgat family organizes symbolic wedding for young woman with Down syndrome

In Yozgat, Turkey, the family of 22-year-old Yağmur Babayiğit, a young woman with Down syndrome, organized a symbolic wedding to fulfill her lifelong dream of wearing a wedding dress.

The celebration included a traditional vehicle convoy and a ceremony at a wedding hall attended by local officials, including Yozgat Governor Mehmet Ali Özkan, as well as family and friends. The event followed local customs, featuring music and dancing to celebrate the occasion.

Yağmur’s father, Yusuf Babayiğit, expressed pride and emotion regarding the event, noting the joy it brought to his daughter. Her mother, Filiz Babayiğit, described the experience as both happy and moving. Governor Özkan attended the ceremony to witness the family's dedication to their daughter's happiness.
