Yozgat’s Çekerek Rafting Park Attracts Thousands of Summer Visitors
The artificial rafting park in Çekerek district, Yozgat, opened in 2022 and has become a popular summer destination for adventure seekers. The 2‑kilometre course includes an 800‑metre wave section and a 1,200‑metre calm section, making it Turkey’s first artificial rafting facility and the second worldwide to earn the “Excellence Centre Certification.”
Mayor Üzeyir İnce reports weekly attendance of 25‑30 000 domestic tourists, with a seasonal target of 150‑200 000 visitors. The influx of guests from other Turkish provinces and abroad, including Germany, is boosting the local economy and raising the profile of the region.
Visitors describe the park as a refreshing way to beat the heat and enjoy an adrenaline‑filled activity in the steppe landscape.
