Yozgat’s Pelitli Lake Draws Growing Visitor Numbers

Peliti Lake, located in the Aydıncık district of Yozgat Province, has become a popular natural‑tourism spot. Surrounded by pelit trees and rich vegetation, the lake offers a scenic backdrop for families and picnickers. A nearby recreation area equipped with picnic tables, pavilions and barbecue facilities was added by local authorities to accommodate visitors.

Local resident Mevlüt Dayıgül said, “Our pool was empty, but this year the rains filled it—thank God. The rain is good and our crops are fine. People come from Yozgat, Çorum and elsewhere. When they see it they leave happy.” He noted that the lake’s water level had risen after several years of decline, improving irrigation for nearby farms. Seasonal visitors arrive in July and August to escape the heat, making Pelitli Lake an emerging star of Yozgat’s nature tourism.
