YPF to split shares 10‑for‑1 on August 4, 2026 to broaden retail investor access
Argentinian energy firm YPF announced a 10‑for‑1 share split that will become effective on 4 August 2026. The split will convert each existing ordinary share into ten new shares, lowering the nominal value from 10 ARS to 1 ARS while keeping the company’s total equity unchanged. The record date is set for 3 August 2026, after which the new shares will be automatically credited to holders without any action required.
The move is intended to improve market liquidity and make YPF’s stock more affordable for small Argentine investors. CEO Horacio Marín said, “Queremos que cada vez más argentinos puedan ser parte del crecimiento de YPF.” YPF also noted that the related American Depositary Shares arrangement with The Bank of New York Mellon will be adjusted proportionally, and the company is developing an app feature that will let users purchase YPF shares directly through the YPF mobile application.
