YPFB activates 1,200 cameras to monitor fuel and LPG supply
Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) has activated 1,200 security cameras across 98 strategic locations to strengthen the control and distribution of liquid fuels and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) throughout Bolivia.
The monitoring system covers service stations, liquid fuel storage plants, and LPG bottling plants. Operating through a National Monitoring Center in La Paz, which complements existing infrastructure in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, the system allows for real-time supervision of the entire supply chain.
Fernando Fernández, YPFB’s Director of Corporate IT Project Management, stated that the system monitors logistics operations, including loading and unloading processes, the movement of tanker trucks, and billing systems. Any detected anomalies are reported immediately, with daily executive reports sent to company authorities to ensure continuous fuel availability nationwide.
