YPFB expects fuel distribution to normalize by Tuesday after blockade lifts

Bolivian state oil company YPFB said fuel queues are expected to shrink sharply and regular distribution should be restored by next Tuesday. President Sebastián Daroca explained that the recent lifting of the blockade in Yapacaní has allowed diesel cisterns from Arica, Chile, to resume direct transit to Santa Cruz, improving logistics for both diesel and gasoline.

YPFB has activated double‑shift operations and is applying new quality‑control protocols introduced by Decree 5619, which have caused brief dispatch delays. The company conducts certification at the source, ship inspections on arrival, and laboratory testing in Cochabamba (6‑8 hours) and Santa Cruz (about 2.5 hours). Additional labs are being set up to speed analysis. Daroca also announced forthcoming management changes at YPFB and its subsidiaries to strengthen operations.
