Ysbyty Gwynedd reviews parking enforcement and park and ride options

The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is reviewing its parking enforcement approach and considering park and ride solutions to address congestion at Ysbyty Gwynedd. The hospital site contains over 1,700 designated spaces, but officials acknowledge that finding parking during peak times remains a challenge for patients, staff, and visitors.

Local representative Janet Finch-Saunders has criticized the current enforcement, calling for parking wardens to cease issuing fines until parking capacity is increased. She argued that fines are being issued to patients struggling to find spaces, which adds unnecessary stress to their hospital visits.
