France: Two fatal incidents reported in Somme and Oise

Two separate fatal incidents have occurred in northern France.

In Ysengremer, Somme, a family gathering turned tragic when a man, allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol at excessive speed, lost control of his vehicle. The driver struck his uncle, who was in a wheelchair, and his mother. The uncle died at the scene, and the mother succumbed to her injuries the following day. The driver has been taken into custody as an investigation continues.

In Compiègne, Oise, a man in his early 40s died following a brawl in a public square. Three suspects—a 20-year-old man, a 33-year-old woman, and an 18-year-old woman—have been placed under investigation. The charges include murder and complicity in murder committed while intoxicated, as well as failure to assist a person in danger. The suspects have been placed in provisional detention while the Senlis prosecutor's office continues the investigation.
