YSL Beauty launches initiative to address digital intimate partner violence

YSL Beauty has launched the ‘Abuse Is Not Love’ initiative, a global program aimed at preventing intimate partner violence (IPV). Through new thought leadership, psychologist Dr. Nina Jane Patel explores how digital habits and technology-facilitated violence can make abusive behaviors difficult to identify, particularly among young people aged 16 to 24.

The initiative highlights how surveillance and digital control can be mistaken for affection, complicating the understanding of healthy intimacy. The program also addresses how less visible forms of psychological or financial control can be harder to recognize than overt physical violence.
