YSRCP condemns arrest of former Minister Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) has condemned the arrest of former Minister Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao, labeling it an ‘act of political vendetta’ by the TDP-led coalition government.

Karumuri was arrested in Hyderabad regarding alleged irregularities in liquor transportation. Former Ministers Chelluboyina Venugopala Krishna, Anil Kumar Yadav, and Vidadala Rajini issued a joint statement claiming a ‘false case’ was manufactured to target YSRCP leaders. They noted that Karumuri’s son, Sunil, had also been previously arrested, suggesting the family is being deliberately targeted.

The YSRCP leaders defended their previous administration's liquor policies, stating that procurement and sales were conducted transparently and that illegal liquor and permit rooms were abolished. They countered by accusing the 2014-19 Chandrababu Naidu government of allowing TDP-linked syndicates to dominate liquor shops and suggested the current government is attempting to divert attention from existing cases involving Naidu.
