YSRCP demands judicial probe into alleged police firing in Pulivendula
The YSRCP has demanded a judicial inquiry by a sitting High Court judge into alleged police firing in Pulivendula, Andhra Pradesh. Party officials, including State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and State General Secretary SV Satish Kumar Reddy, claim that police officers opened fire without provocation while opposition candidates were attempting to file nominations for local body elections.
Party leaders accused the ruling TDP government of obstructing the electoral process through intimidation, the use of tear gas, and lathi-charges. They further alleged that the government is engineering unopposed victories by coercing candidates to withdraw or by delaying essential documentation, such as caste and no-dues certificates. YSRCP officials challenged Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to ensure the protection of opposition candidates during the nomination process.
