YSRCP demands transparency in Andhra Pradesh voter-roll revision
The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has called for increased transparency regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls in Andhra Pradesh. Lella Appi Reddy, a YSRCP State General Secretary and MLC, urged the Chief Electoral Officer to ensure that all changes made during the revision process are verifiable at the booth level.
Reddy requested official constituency-wise and booth-wise data concerning voters who have been added, deleted, shifted, or recorded as deceased. The party is seeking specific figures on unmapped and discrepancy notices to allow Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to cross-check affected voters. Additionally, the YSRCP has requested the removal of confirmed duplicate registrations, noting that they have already submitted details of suspected duplicates within the state and across state lines.
The party also expressed concerns regarding polling-station rationalization, alleging that family members are being split across different booths or wards. The YSRCP has demanded that voters from the same household be kept together and that the criteria for shifting voters be made clear. Furthermore, they requested that details regarding new polling stations, revised booth mapping, and contact information for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) be placed in the public domain.
