YSRCP prepares for Andhra Pradesh local elections

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed party regional coordinators to accelerate preparations for upcoming local-body elections. During a meeting in Tadepalli, Reddy emphasized the need to identify strong, credible, and capable candidates immediately to strengthen the party for future electoral cycles.

In Nellore, YSRCP leaders are intensifying efforts to prepare for the Nellore Municipal Corporation elections. Following a delimitation process, the number of divisions in the corporation has increased from 54 to 72. The party is working to field candidates across all divisions, with efforts focused on both urban and rural segments.

Meanwhile, the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and its alliance partners, including Jana Sena and the BJP, are also ramping up preparations. The BJP is reportedly seeking a larger share of seats within the alliance. The reservation process for various communities, including a 33.33 per cent quota for BCs in urban local bodies, is expected to be finalized shortly.
