Su-Young You defeats Cody Chovancek via submission at UFC Edmonton

South Korean fighter Su-Young You secured his first UFC finish victory by defeating Cody Chovancek via third-round submission at UFC Edmonton. The bantamweight bout, held at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Canada, concluded at the 4:19 mark of the third round when You locked in a kimura, forcing Chovancek to tap.

Despite Chovancek entering the match with an undefeated 9-0 professional record, You dominated much of the grappling exchanges. After a competitive start where Chovancek applied pressure, You utilized successful takedowns to control the positioning throughout the second and third rounds. This victory marks a successful rebound for You following a loss in March, while Chovancek suffers his first professional defeat.

The event also featured a high-tension weigh-in between welterweight competitors Joaquin Buckley and Mike Malott, who engaged in intense verbal sparring and staredowns prior to their main event matchup.
