Yu Yu Hakusho live-action second season to begin filming in 2026

Production for the second season of the Yu Yu Hakusho live-action adaptation is scheduled to begin in the final quarter of 2026. Shueisha confirmed that filming for the new arc will commence in October 2026.

The upcoming season is expected to adapt the “Dark Tournament Unification Arc” (also referred to as the Makai Unification Tournament), which expands the series' scope beyond the events of the first season.

Takumi Kitamura is set to return as Yusuke Urameshi. Reported cast additions for the new season include Shun Oguri, Nobuaki Kaneko, Mirai Moriyama, and Mizuki Yamamoto, who are expected to portray inhabitants of the demon world. The first season, released by Netflix in 2023, consisted of five episodes.
